Southern Vacuum Cooling Inc. is a family owned and operated business.  Founded in 1959 by H.S. Rodgers; his experience and knowledge is still practiced today by his sons and grandsons.  Pre-cooling of a product is exceptionally important for quality.  Through the process of vacuum cooling, product shelf life is increased, allowing long distance transport to be more profitable for the grower.  We specialize in building quality, well maintained portable units.  Units we built in the early 1960's are still in operation today.

We offer three to seven pallet, portable units for lease in the US, Canada and Mexico.  We insure our units to be in proper working order prior to lease.  We provide onsite installation, operational training and service during the course of our lease.

For our customers preferring ownership, we custom design and manufacture portable and stationary vacuum coolers, per order.  These units can be electric or diesel powered and range in any size capacity.  New vacuum coolers can be equipped with various features, depending on the customer's needs.

Our main facility is located in South Carolina.  At this site we manufacture new units and service most of our portable rental units.  Our west coast base of operation is in Salinas, California.  Here we have installed several large capacity permanent operations, in addition to leasing of portable units.  Mexico headquarters is located in Guanajuato.
